Happy Friday!!

How is it going??  The weekend jitters are in all of us I can feel it!  Smiles from the neighbours, “hello’s” from the starbucks strangers only seem to happen on Friday’s!  I love ‘em.

So today I wanted to give you a little review on something that has won my heart over.

You know how I have been flattening my tummy with the special Flat Tummy Drink?

DSC05731

If any of you have tried this drink yet and have been grating your own ginger and cucumbers you will know it isn’t as easy as it looks.

I was using my regular old cheese grater to grate my ginger until my wonderful Nana picked me up the Microplane Fancy Zester.

I decided to shoot a little live action video for you all.  A little viewing pleasure for a Friday morn ;)

No more grated knuckles! This kitchen gadget is marv and a serious necessity now for my baking, juice making, and nutmeg grating ;)

This microplane grater is made out of surgical grade steel, is dishwasher safe and I hear through the grapevine it can also be used on your feet.  I wouldn’t suggest it if you are  using this in your kitchen, but a very awesome tip to know ;)

My new fancy zester is not only for lemons and ginger.  This bad boy is  freaking fantastic with nutmeg, garlic, oranges, limes, hard cheese, chocolate (perfect little chocolate shavings….hello!) and so much more.

This is my fave kitchen utensil right now.

Before I sign off from this post I want to let you know I have a tasty cookie recipe for  you later and I get to show you all the wonderful goodies I was given yesterday!

**OH you are NOT going to want to miss an AMAZING GIVEAWAY I have coming up very soon!!  Keep checking back,  you will love it! I swear on RPattz ;)

Now, I must get my list for today completed.  I am shooting some videos with Ryan (wish me luck), blogging, laundry, and cleaning.  Phew.

Have a FAB day!

What is your Favourite kitchen gadget right now?  Does kitchen utensils and gadgets excite you? They never used to for me.  It seems the older I get the more appreciation I have for them.

Ghetto With My Greens!

Happy Thursday!

One day closer, how does it feel??

This morning I figured I would show you all my ghetto side. We seem to go through blenders like toilet paper around here. Seriously, we purchase, we use a few times, we bust it.

I am not sure if it is because we blend so often? Or because we load it full of stuff? Whatever is happening it is super annoying. So we are purchasing a Vita soon. Whats the point in purchasing 5 “Ok” blenders over a year when you could just buy one killer one?

I wanted to share with you the one thing that has stayed strong over the last 2 years. The one thing that has NEVER let me down.

Meet my $8 Hand Blender “Smoothie Time” we like to call him ;)

DSC05751

Seriously thing has never broken, failed or sputtered. It is the best $8 bucks I have ever spent and it is was fuels us on these broken blender mornings.

This is how you roll with making the best Ghetto Greens:

1. I make mine in a large glass. The glass needs to be big enough to get “Smoothie Time” into it to mash everything up.

DSC05752

DSC05754

2. Ryan’s gets made in “Old Plastic Bowl” because he gets double the Smoothie ;) He also gets more stuff in is (Almond Butter, more banana’s, etc)

DSC05755

3. Place all your ingredients (vega, fruit, milk, greens, chia seeds, etc) in the glass or bowl, pour in you milk, add the greens, and start blending! Moving the hand blender up and down trying to get each leaf of spinach. Fun Times!

4. I give the little wand a nice wash after and tuck him away for the day.

LOL, who knew Ghetto Greens could be so much fun?!  It is pretty annoying actually ;)

Most people would just opt for possible oatmeal or pancakes for mornings where their blender bites the bun, but not us. We can’t stay away from our morning smoothies.

A morning without a smoothie is not a morning at all!

Today’s Agenda:

Blogging stuff and online work

Life Coach Appointment

Dinner (Thank goodness for left overs!)

Meeting

Read Breaking Dawn ;)

I guess I should do some laundry in there sometime too…..hmmmm

What do you do if you blender stops working on you?  Have you ever hand blended it?

Who has a Vita Mix affiliate link??

The Flat Tummy Drink

Hey, Hey, Haaaayyyyy!!

Happy Sunday!

How has your weekend been going?  Mine has been going wonderfully well.

Last night was our dinner with date with our new friends Kate and her husband Sukhi.  We went to a local Indian Restaurant ate our faces off and chatted the night away!  The four of us have so much in common and before we knew it we were closing the restaurant down.

Can you believe I didn’t even take pics of my meal?  Great food blogger I am :|

Ryan and I shared the Channa Massala with mild spice {I ate most of this dish} and an Aloo Gobhi with extra hot spice {Ryan ate all of this one.  Because he is half Japanese he likes things “wasabi” hot} and a side of fancy rice.

I also splurged on a wonderful glass of BC white and enjoyed every sip until a bug flew into it.

If you knew me, you would know that I always get bugs in my wine.  I think it is because I am always thinking that I am going to get that bug in my wine now.  See, what you think about, you bring about.  If you watched my Video Vision Board training video {newsletter subscribers only - So sign up now to receive it!} you would know all about this ;)

Before our wonderful evening out, I was busy at home.  I did some laundry, wrote out my week ahead, worked out, and made a batch of Flat Tummy Drink.

What is this Flat Tummy Drink you ask?

I was visiting with Ryan’s mom the other day and she showed me a new cookbook she purchased “Flat Belly Diet!” and told me about this drink that helps you get your flat belly!

The ingredients in this drink are alkaline, promote “movement” in the body and hydration.

The key to weight loss is to remove those toxins that live in the belly, cellulite, and areas of the body.  Being properly hydrated and urinating {sexy, I know} frequently will speed up the fat removal from the body.

I was super excited to get on this drink and while grocery shopping I picked up the ingredients and whipped some up yesterday.  Tastes like heaven and weight loss ;)

Flat Tummy Drink:

DSC05731

2 organic lemons
1/2 organic cucumber
1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
1 bunch chopped fresh mint leaves
6 cups – 8 cups filtered water

Directions:

Wash the lemons, cucumbers and mint leaves well {they will be sitting in your drinking water}

Grate the ginger and a quarter of the cucumber.  Slice the remaining quarter of the cucumber.

Squeeze 1 and a half lemons into a large water jug, slice the other half of the lemon and add the slices to the jug along with the remaining ingredients.

Let the jug full of goodness sit in the fridge for a bit to get the full flavour.  Sip on this refreshing bevy throughout the day!

You will love the taste and how refreshing this is!

Ginger is extremely good for your digestion and is wonderful for gentle detoxifying :)

Well I am off t walk the poochy poo around the sea wall!  Enjoy your day!

Do you enjoy fruit in your water?  How much water do you think you drink a day?  Do you have any “flat tummy secrets” you can share?
