Howdy Everyone!
What a beautiful day here!! We decided it was such a beautiful day out, what better way to spend it at Ryan’s favourite car dealership, and walking around a favourite place of mine – Granville Island!
On the way into town (15 minute drive LOL!) we swung by ‘bucks and picked up a nice morning bevy and then off to Porsche we went!
We frequent here often as its Ryan’s second home

After seeing all the new 2010 models we hit the ocean and walked around Granville Island. The temp is like spring, the sun is out and the organic veg were rocking at the market! Nothing could be better

Ok loves, onto the FOOD!
I am lovin’ cilantro lately! I put it on everything savoury. Ryan won’t touch the stuff with a 10 foot pole as he used to be a chef at a restaurant and he sliced the tip of his thumb off while choppin’ up these little fragrant leaves….so I am a solo cilantro eater
My salad for lunch had like 1/2 a bunch on it and my dinner last night was covered with it.
Dinner was Mexican black beans with veggies on salad. Perfectly fresh, filling and just right!

Mexican Beans:
1 can organic black beans (I used salt free beans)
1 red pepper
1 large zucchini
1 small onion
2 carrots
3 – 4 tbsp organic salsa
1 avocado
a whack of cilantro
3 cups greens
1 tbsp evoo
Heat evoo over medium heat, add onions, peppers, zucchini, and carrots and cook until tender
Add black beans to veggie mix and cook until heated
Add salsa to mixture and mix well.
Add bean and veg to plated greens and top with avocado and cilantro and a splash of salsa
Left overs are for lunch!
YUM!
I have the most amazing bar recipe to post tomorrow!! You will love them!
Do you use cilantro in many dishes? What do you love it in? Do you juice it??
XXOO
Kris

Yummy salad! I don’t just LOVE cilantro. I’ll eat it if it’s mixed well with other flavors though – like in a pico de gallo. I think it can be over-powering sometimes.

Hey Kris! I LOVE, LOVE Granville Island. It is one of my favorite places too! We used to be down there at least once a month. Before I started paying attention to dairy and such, it used to be tradition to get a nanaimo bar from the bakery in there that always has the long line-ups ( I forgot the name). Ahh..memories! I usually always leave with a new plant too..they suck you in before you even get into the market..haha! I think I know that dealership too..Ryan and I went in there and the salesman chatted us up for 1/2 hour. Your lunch looks delicious and I’m a salsa addict…mmm! Looking forward to the bar recipe:)

oooh..I forgot to mention I do love cilantro..especially with thai-style foods. I haven’t juiced it but would be powerful stuff.

Nope! I’m not a cilantro fan! All of my friends love it, so I thought I was the only one! I don’t mind a very small amount in a Mexican dish, but if I’m preparing the food, it won’t be in there!
Juicing with it might be a fun experiment… I’ve been trying to build up my tolerance for celery that way, so maybe cilantro should be next!

I think Ryan and Ali would get along fabulously because Ali’s favorite place to be is a Porsche dealer. Any car dealer is my least favorite place to be.
You guys look gorgeous though!
