Do you “Full Out” do things

Hi Everyone!

Wow!  It is all ready dinner time and I am just now sitting down to blog!  Where has the day gone?  Today is going to be a short and sweet email because I have a very hot date tonight with my sister ;)

We usually take each other to see the really girly movies and tonight is going to be Letters to Juliet! Tissue is tucked nicely into the purse along with my snacks ;)  We decided to go classy tonight and head downtown to watch the movie and stop along the way to our favourite “rich” coffee shop!  We seem to see a lot of local celebs there and many people that are stinking rich.  Ahh I just love the vibe there :)

Today I have spent learning more social media tips and watching videos on a program that Ryan purchased.  Wow, who knew being online could generate a killing, plus allow freedom to work from home?!  I am getting to it dolls, I will give tips when I am done to whomever needs it.

What I learned today that really stuck with me and this totally has to do with all areas of our life – When you say you are going to do something, do you FULL OUT do it?  Or just dabble?

I realized long ago that I would say I would do something and then I would read an article on it, or try it for  a bit and think I had actually done something.  I would start a new workout plan and only make it 1 week in (the first time doing P90X I did this!).  Lately I have been just Doing It!  I say I am going to do, so I must do it.

How can you stay committed to things you want, you ask?  Simple. First off, you must want it bad enough to stay on track ;)

Here are some tips for staying committed to what you set your mind too.  It might be in Business, Working out, Saving money, or even your Food!

* Create a Daily and Weekly Plan for your new adventure – As the day goes on cross off what you have accomplished.  If you do not have a list you may think that you have nothing “important” to do and turn on the latest epi of The Real Housewives of New Jersey (that would have been me!)

* Get an Accountability partner! This is such a great way to stay on track.  Tell them you will email them daily and let you know what you have crossed off your list.  You will want to make sure you on the ball so you look good to your friend, family member or whomever you choose ;)

* Reward Yourself! Do you know how powerful this is?  When you have hit a major milestone like completing 1 month of a new diet, or workout plan go buy yourself a new top or something you have had your eye on for a while.  This will put another big gust of wind into your sails as you continue on!

* Spread the Word! Go tell everyone what you are committing yourself to so you have no choice but to do it.  I do this all the time.  The worst thing will be when someone comes up to  you after months of not seeing you and asked how _______is going!  You want to look at them and say “FAB!” not “I didn’t do it…..”

Or course there is always another side to everything and say you realized half way in you didn’t like what you committed yourself too, then who cares, just mosey on.

I do this even with Books I am reading.  I used to never finish a book! Now I set a commitment to read X number of pages a day, cross it off my list and will treat myself to a starbucks when that book is done.  I feel better, learn more and enjoy a treat.

I totally admire people that say they will do something and no questions asked – Just Do It!

Do you Just Do It when you commit to something?  Do you need some persuading to get moving?  What keeps you on track with things you want to accomplish?

Great post! Very inspirational. For most things I just dabble other than with my workouts. But with other things, like trying to bake/sell dog treats, I dabble. I get really excited then end up losing focus.

This post is basically perfect timing for me right now. I've been terrible at committing to things lately. Well in all honesty, I've never been all that great at committing to and completing things. I seem to get ideas in my head that waste away pretty quickly. And I'm tired of that! You're so right, just DO IT! Whenever I actually DO follow through with and stick to things it's never as tough as I think it's going to be… and it's SO worth it once you finish something and actually feel accomplished! Your list is great. Even your idea of how to get through books is perfect, I have so much trouble finishing books so I really need to use that tip!
Thanks for this doll. So great!

Those are great tips for staying committed :) Fortunately (unfortunately?) it's wired in my dna to be committed to e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g. For lack of a better phrase, I go balls to the wall! lol

Enjoy the date night with your sis!

This is great! Do you just “mentally” push yourself? That is great internal power! Love it!

Love your tips! Especially the one about have a set number of pages to read. Currently I'm in the middle of 5 different books, ranging in topics from organic baby food, vaccines for children and a couple network marketing books. Definitely a dabbler and it's NOT working!
    Thanks for sharing!

Yes! I totally needed to see this post. I am sooo guilty of starting and not finishing things. I let myself get distracted, or just lose the buzz of excitement. Love your idea of making lists. I make lists a lot for other things, and they do work well for me. I have some new ideas about tweaking them in order to stick with new projects. (Love your example of reading X number of pages) Would you mind sharing which video program you're using?

Glad things are going so well for you. Keep us posted on this topic. I love reading about what motivates people and how they reach their goals.

Great Post and great timing! On days that I have to do list I get a lot of things done and on days that I just try to go by memory only some gets doen. I also have noticed when I have thing on paper than I put more value into it and work harder to achieve them :)

When I commit to something, I just do it. Persuading does help me move on. Things that keep me on track are…food, the postive gains that I have later on, rewarding myself (Mario kart with my little brother! Ha ha!) :D , going on a date (like an actual “date”) with my boy, and getting time/knowledge that I couldn't have gained without doing whatever I decided to do! :D
