Pumpkin Seed Protein Review and Recipes

Hey!

How is your beautiful day going today?

Mine is going very nicely.  I have enjoyed a nice morning on the patio with a little tea and some Breaking Dawn.  I feel I am savouring every page of this book as I know once this is done, my vamp obsession is over ;)

Yesterday while grocery shopping I came across a new protein powder I have been wanting to try for a while, so I decided to throw it in my cart and bring it home!

Have any of you seen or tried this before?!  It is loaded full or protein and amino acids!

So I was on my experimenting journey with this new love of mine last night….

I of course made a big smoothie after my leg workout last night with 1/2 banana and a cup of rice milk, filtered water and 2 tbsp of the pspp! Loved it!   You can’t even taste the powder.

I also made some lentil burgers for dinner and added some of the protein powder in them ;)

As I was loading my plate up I totally broke my burger.  It ended up looking more like a chicken strip than a burger.

These lentil-y things were super good!

Lentil Yam Burgers:

2 cups red lentils
4 cups water
1 cup cooked yam
1/4 cup chia seeds
1 small onion
1 medium carrot
1 tsp sea salt
1 tsp pepper and seasoning of choice.  (I used organic everyday seasoning)
1 – 2 tbsp pumpkin seed protein powder

Cook lentils and yams as directed.

Preheat oven to 400

Place cooked lentils, yams and all other ingredients into your food processor.

Form into patties on a parchment lined cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes a side.

YUM!!!

I enjoyed these burgers with baked Sweet Potato Fries, Steamed Broccoli and Carrots (only steam for 2 min to keep nutritional value!), sauteed mushrooms and zucchini in light coconut oil.

Perfect dinner!!

Back to the Pumpkin Seed Protein Powder!

The black container of goodness is full with over 63% premium vegetarian protein by weight, PPP offers health-minded consumers a protein replacement product that is easy to digest and so naturally concentrated that 1.5 scoops offers 15 grams of complete protein.

Thank you Omega Nutrition for such a wonderful product!  Now the week of testing if it is good for me starts!!

You can find a simple smoothie recipe on their site here.

My morning smoothie consisted of:

2 tbsp pumpkin protein powder
1 cup rice milk
1 tsp cinnamon
1 handful of spinach
1/2 frozen banana
filtered water

Blended and thoroughly enjoyed ;)

Now I am off to get some emails done, site stuff, dog walk, and chiropractors appointment!

Have a great day!

Have you tried the Pumpkin Protein Powder yet?  How many smoothies do you think you have a day?  Do you usually stick to your fave protein powder or do you try new ones as well?

To Your Glam Life,

xxoo

Never saw it (and good thing, I assume it is ultra-pricey!).

I am not fussy on powders to be honest.

I get LOTS of pumpkin goodness from:
    – Pumpkin seed butter (I love nut butter on EVERYTHING)
    – pumpkin seeds!

Hey girl – not sure if you go back to check replies so I’ll also answer here – oddly enough, my workout in Philly and the one yesterday were not that hard. Today….ugh…..

I’ve never seen Pumpkin Protein Powder before! Sounds like something I’d like to try, though!

I almost always have at least one smoothie a day (sometimes two!), but lately I’ve been leaving out the protein powder. I go back and forth on whether my body really ‘needs’ it or not… so lately I’ve been seeing how my body feels without it. When I do use it, I have a big bag of Sun Warrior handy!

I don’t make a lot of smoothies, but I wish I did! I think it’s mostly because my blender is temperamental :)

I JUST BOUGHT THAT SAME PROTEIN POWDER!! Totally agreeing with you on how awesome it is! At first I was a little wary because it has a bit of a strong smell but yes, you can’t even taste it!

I’m definitely going to be trying out those burgers asap. Maybe tomorrows lunch/dinner?

I have NOT seen pumpkin protein, and will definitely be on the lookout! I generally have one smoothie a day (sometimes I add pumpkin puree!).

I definitely have favorite protein powders, but I love buying single serving packets to try new ones… I’m all about trying new product! :)

Those burgers sound great, even if they look more like chix strips! :) I’m going to have to try them!

I’ve tried it and liked the taste of it. A friend of mine bought it just recently and he loves it as well.,
