Shutting The Night Down Early.

Happy Thursday, Doll!

How are ya?

So last night was a night where we actually shut things off at 9:30pm.  Well, we shut internet and phones off then, but still kept the t.v. on so we could catch up on movie night.  We haven’t had a movie night in a long freaking time and it was soooooo nice!!

We headed to Whole Foods to get some groceries and stopped by the beach quickly to soak up the last bit of sunshine, where did make calls, answer texts and facebook :)

At the beach we turned our iPhones on to play some tunes, closed our eyes and connected ourselves.  My goodness it felt so good to listen to the waves, feel that my thoughts are building my life and knowing that the universe is my homeboy.  It was fab!

So after the beach and the Whole Foods trip we headed home and watched the super perverted and light hearted, American Reunion!  My kinda movie.

We picked up some movie snacks to complete the evening and a few snacks to brighten our days :)

Have you tried the Blueberry Larabar??

I ate it on the way home from the store and I just found it to be “Ok”….I much prefer my Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip ;)

It felt so great to disconnect for a few hours before bed and I actually sat laughing and recharging my internal batteries.  Even while traveling we were always “ON” with people or team building, so peeling my body from the computer was hard, but well worth it.  This morning I feel fresh as a daisy and ready to rock out in the gym!

On Facebook I mentioned that I’m reading Think And Grow Rich again, but I can’t read it before bed as I just fall asleep.  Come’on its not like its Fifty Shades of Grey or anything, this is 1937 writing on how to be successful…the book does the bob and then falls on my face.  So I read it around my lunch time when I’m fully alert and ready to absorb info that is going to make me wealth ;)

So I must schedule my 30 minutes of reading into my day.  Its now noted on my To Do List.

I’m off to drink my joe, eat my yogurt and berries and crush a quick workout!!  Have a great day!

Comment Below! Do you unplug at night?  Do you like the Blueberry Larabar??

To Your Glam Life,

xxoo

I love this post… my husband and I are ALWAYS plugged in (kinda need to for our jobs), but it starts creeping into so much of our lives. One night, my hubs said, “Let’s unplug and just talk.” It was so nice! We try to unplug a lot more now… I think it’s important to make those personal connections, or even just to reconnect with yourself once in a while!

Think and Grow Rich!! I keep meaning to read this book (it is highly recommended by my Business Admin-major hubs), but I’ve yet to pick it up. Thanks for the suggestion to NOT read it before bed! Although, I do have insomnia, so maybe it’ll help. ;-)

We do a version of that with our kids. No electronics after dinner. It’s amazing what kids will tell you when you just sit with them and listen. This became our nightly ritual and the added bonus is that it’s a great way to wind down before heading to bed.
