Easy Oven Baked Yam Chips

Hello gorgeous!

How is your weekend treating you?

I can tell you that mine has been something amazing!

Yesterday morning, Michelle and I went on a *rock out fitness out* hike!  We are on the buns of steel mission and we rolled out early to hit the hike full force before the parade of people get to it.  We fueled up on fresh fruit before taking the forest on with our kind companion, Hudson.

My man Hudson is quite the little gentle man letting us ladies pass and he makes sure we get up ok.  He is always watching who is around and making sure that Michelle and I are always near…..very good guard doggie we have 😉

He did not wear his muscle shirt on this hike 😉

Saturday night was stay-in-snuggle-up night!  My favorite kind of night.  Before I placed a spread of snacks out on the coffee table which we ate while watching endless amounts of Friends Episodes, I did some yoga, had a bubble bath and relaxed.   Heavenly!  I really needed a super chill night to realign myself and feel human again.  I had been on the go for all of last week and needed a recharge.

I am back in action, feeling rested and now ready to tackle my inbox 😐

As I mentioned above, we snacked while watching Friends.  I was craving something salty and had a bag of organic yams ready to be used, so I made a crispy creation!

Easy Oven Baked Yam Chips! Yam chips or Sweet Potato chips are my weakness.  I will purchase that overly expensive bag of Terra Chips, Sweet Potato Chips when company comes over or we are really craving a *special* treat, but I really needed to make my own….plus I didn’t feel like running to the store for the Terra Chips 😉

Easy Oven Baked Yam Chips:

3 small Yams {sliced into chips}

1 tbsp Olive Oil

1 tsp Sea Salt

Pepper to taste

To Make Easy Oven Baked Yam Chips:  Preheat oven to 325.

Peel and slice yams into “chips”.  {I used a potato peeler to make my chips as I was too lazy to use the food processor.}

Lay each chip out on a parchment lined cookie sheet and brush each chip with a tiny bit of olive oil.  Don’t over do the oil or the chips will stay soggy while baking.

Sprinkle sea salt and pepper over the oiled chips.  Bake for 35 minutes.  Rotate half way through baking.

I served these with some guacamole for dipping!  YUM!

These chips are MUCH more healthy and weight friendly for your body.  Baked to perfection with a tiny bit of healthy oil allows you to snack consciously :)

What is your favorite kind of Chip?

    It sounds like you & your sis had a great workout together…how fun! I miss working out with my sis and we always try to fit in workouts together when I am visiting! Special!

    The sweet potato chips look fantastic~can’t wait to try ’em! I am going to be working on an edamame guacamole soon & I will let you know when I have the recipe. What kind of guacamole do you use now or do you make your own?

    Have a fantastic May Day!!

    Awesome snack idea! I love sweet potato chips; I don’t know why I never thought to make my own before!! These look awesome and are so much healthier that the grocery store brands. And dipped in guacamole ~ awesome!

    I LOVE terra chips too, but you are right they are WAY to $$$ and so oily!

    These sound good too!! and I have a mandoline slicer, so I’m sure that would work well to!! Thanks for the tip!

    I made some sweet potato chips in my dehydrator last weekend and they took 15 hours! They were delicious… but took WAY too long. These look delicious. Although they wouldn’t be raw, the time difference between the two recipes has me intrigued!

    I want to thank you- it’s unrelated to your post, ish however…

    I too have had/ have issues not dissimilar to yours and often I feel that my routines and frequent self-doubt render me untouchable- insofar that nobody would ever want to willingly become a part of my life on a level of companionship/ soul mate. I feel that I’m difficult and too complex for anybody to ever see me as anything other than a friend, or a nuisance…

    Even just posting pictures of your partner and your dog make me feel that there’s hope. That past ‘baggage’ just adds to the framework of who I am today- or of who I will be when I eventually (…) meet somebody in that capacity

    I posted about it today and I know you’re busy but I’d really like your thoughts on it… how to think positively through it etc. It’s something that I often dwell upon, yet don’t feel ready to ‘free’ myself from my rituals/ routines etc. to get Out There

    Here’s to the loves of your life- adding glamour and depth :)

    Mmmm me too!! Yam chips or Sweet Potato chips are my fave! They would have been grand in like a dill dip :)

    Have a great evening love!

    You are my food HERO! You are so full of health and always choose the “healthier” option, I love that!! I need a dehydrator so I can rock out some wicked raw chips! Chips love me and I love them…when good for you :)

    Terra chips rock, but holy moly they are pricy!! I agree…oily too….

    Hahaha, I bet a mandoline slicer would work bombdiggity…better than my potato peeler :)
