Sugar Free Peanut Butter Cups

Happy Friday, Doll!

How are ya??

It’s FRIDAY!!!!  It’s also my sister, Michelle’s birthday!!!  Happy Birthday Shelleybabe!!  If you’re reading this, I snuggle you later when I see you.

Because today is such a special day to me, not only was I blessed with my lil sis on this day 24 years ago, it’s also Treat Friday!!  Now, I wanted to dedicate this Treat to Michelle….growing up we used to eat Peanut Butter Chocolate Ice Cream from our favorite ice cream shop and savor every last bit in our sugar cone.  Baskin Robins was a place that holds a spot in my heart.  Especially when mom would go there to pick up this ice cream for our birthday mud pies.  SWOON.

Last night I curled up to watch The Big Bang Theory with today’s treat.  I had to make sure it was perfecto for you to enjoy!  Plus, at the end of yesterday I really needed a good sweet treat.  Ryan and I spent some of the day running around looking at places downtown for our friends that are moving here from Texas for 3 months, so that was fun!  There are some amazing condo’s over looking the water here in Vancouver, I feel in love!

Then we hit up Whole Foods for some coffee and a snack.  My favorite place on earth!  While at Whole Foods I picked up some Peanut Butter, my favorite peanut butter that I shared in the latest Lovin’, Likin’ & Lickin’ Video and made some bad ass Sugar Free Peanut Butter Cups!!

I was a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup kinda gal when I was younger.  Dang, they were beyond good.  These frozen treats remind me of my beloved naughty, sugar~filled childhood.

These are seriously too healthy to be true.

Yesterday I mentioned that I’ve been eating high protein and lovin’ every bit of it, so again, these treats are packed with protein goodness and grain free!

Sugar Free Peanut Butter Cups:

*makes 2 peanut butter cups

1.5 tbsp Peanut Butter {heaping}

2.5 tbsp Vanilla Protein Powder {I used Vi-Shape Shake Mix in Sweet Cream}

1/2 tsp Vanilla

2 tbsp Almond Milk

*If you protein powder is unsweetened add some stevia for sweetness

Chocolate Topping:

1 tbsp Coconut Oil

2 tbsp Cocoa Powder

7 drops Vanilla Stevia {NuNaturals}

To Make Sugar Free Peanut Butter Cups: In a sauce pan over low heat, heat peanut butter up a wee bit.

Stir in Protein Powder, Vanilla and Almond Milk.  Stir until combined well.

Drop a tablespoon of mixture into muffin liners.  Place in the freezer for 5 minutes.

While the peanut butter mixture is in the freezer, make the chocolate.

In a sauce pan melt the coconut oil.  Stir in the cocoa powder and stevia.

Drizzle the chocolate over each cup and place in the freezer for at least 45 minutes.

Oh!  Yesterday I rocked out a FAB workout and I mixed the new ZWOW #8 Workout along with an upper body workout!

Sons of Guns:

{Use Heavy Weights!!!!}

10 DB Shoulder Press

10 Bicep Curls

10 Upward Rows

10 Push Ups

10 Tricep Dips

Rock this out 2-3 times at a face pace :)  LOVE IT!  *Kiss Bicep*

Today we’re running around again looking at condos for our friend and then will be heading out for dinner for Michelle’s birthday with the family!

But first…its coffee time!!

I hope you have a great day!

    Happy B-Day Michelle!

    I’m totally a Reese’s girl too, chocolate and peanut butter is seriously the best flavor combination ever.

    Do you have any recipes using chocolate protein powder? I have a bag I want to use up before investing in another flavor 😉

    I am trying to get more protein too, and these look absolutely delicious! We don’t have peanut butter cups in France, so I discovered them when I came to Canada! I like them but find them too sweet for my taste.. I will be trying your version!
    And happy birthday to your sister :)
    PS: I did ZWOW8 yesterday too

    Hey Helene!!! You will love these cups, not nearly as sweet as the usual peanut butter cups :) Protein is really key {for me} to a leaner, stronger body!! Keep up the great work!!

    Ahhhhh Tracy, you and me both….reese’s gals!! HIGH FIVE!! Hmmm, you might be able to use chocolate protein in this one, chocolate and PB are magical, so I would try it! Report back please :)

    Ooh these look delightful! I love that you love treats as much as me (healthy ones of course ;)!)

    I make some low-sugar peanut butter cups but I’m okay with things not tasting too sweet. They’re pretty basic though – just super dark chocolate (I use 85%) melted and then put into a cup with a teaspoon of peanut butter in the middle. Haha, two ingredients, easy done, but they do still have some sugar (tiny amount but still) and a lot of people won’t appreciate the bitterness of the chocolate. I have some weird tastebuds I guess! Glad to have this recipe for when I need to make for people who aren’t quite as ‘bitter’ as me hahaha.

    Happy Friday!!!

    I am finally getting caught up after being away from my beloved computer this week. Your treats look fabulous, like usual! Happy Birthday Michelle!

    I’m flying home tonight. Can’t wait to get home and get started on stuff :)

    You’re killing me with all these awesome treats! Question for yah though……I would like to make the chocolate without the oil….have you done this? How? maybe use almond milk?

    PS I think my fave chocolate bar as a kid was the crunchie bar. Omg man.

  8. Caitlin says

    oh those pb cups looks totally yum!

    my favorite bar growing up was a Symphony bar. It had a gold wrapper and my sister and I used to pretend we won the “golden ticket” (from Willy Wonka and the Choc. Factory) when we opened it. lol

    I was also obsessed with Kinder Eggs, which I have only been able to find in Canada. I can’t find them anywhere here!

  9. Shannon says

    OMG Kris!! I made these treats today and they are AMAZING!! I used mini muffin liners to make them smaller bite-sized treats. What a GREAT treat!! Thank you!!!!

    Milky Way all the… way? lol Definitely.
    These protein “reeses” look wonderful though, definitely gonna try them out really soon. I’ll use almond butter instead though, I’m not much of a PB butter person.
