Living In Your Authentic Power.

Happy Tuesday, Doll!

How are ya?

POWER. This is an interesting word.

I thought today I’d share a bit about how you can step into your power and share with you a bit of my power stepping journey….

Yesterday I mentioned I was going to do this on Facebook and I got a couple emails with gals telling me that they need to know how to live in their own power.

Power used to scare me.  Why?  Because I thought it was a negative word.  I would hear power and I would think that means someone is in control of me.  Over the years until I took a dip in my personal pool of amazingness I had no idea how to “Own My Power” and how to LIVE IN MY POWER!  This is the key, being in your power is what is going to allow you to be the best you in life.

What I was doing for most of the time was giving my power away.

I recently read this piece online that came out of Marianne Williamson’s book “A Woman’s Worth”:

A queen is wise. She has earned her serenity, not having had it bestowed on her but having passed her tests. She has suffered and grown more beautiful because of it. She has proved she can hold her kingdom together. She has become its vision. She cares deeply about something bigger than herself. She rules with authentic power.

I really started to want to understand what “rules with authentic power.” meant!  WOW, I COULD rule my life with power that was authentic, that was real that was ME!  How flippin cool!  I missed this in my life and I thrived for it.

When I first went on my spiritual journey a few years back I sat and looked at my coach and said “I don’t know whats wrong with me, but I feel like a prisoner in my own body”.  That was the best way for me to describe the disconnect I had within.

I knew in my heart I wanted to be seen, to be powerful and to lead.  I just never believed I could.

I started to see that anyone that said “No” to me, or disagreed with me, cut me down or even gave me advice, I’d give my power to them like they’d stick a vacuum to my face and just suck it all out of me.  Forever, daily, I was drained and tired all the time. Sad and lonely in life.

This needed to change and it needed to morph fast if I wanted that life I never knew I had, but wanted so badly.

I started my personal development journey reprogramming my brain with all the passions I had and I started loving myself more and more each day.  “Me” time was added to my day and I was treating the universe like my Homeboy and really connecting to myself at a deeper level.  I wrote a post on WHAT to do to change your life around here {the universe is my homeboy….or girl} I started to develop my 5 Fab Tips for Living a Life of Happiness and just embraced the change that was happening in my life.

Quick Tip: Start doing this exercise daily – “I Love Myself For ______

What will happen, just like it did with me is you’ll start to see when you’re not in your power and when someone else has those strings on you.  You need to really open your heart and feel when you are out of your truth and not following what it is you want or need.

You will KNOW when you start journaling when you’re out of your truth ever day.  I suggest you really pay attention to how you FEEL on a daily basis and when you feel tired, uncomfortable or just flat out confused, you will see how you can bring yourself back to your power.

For me it was seeing myself depleted everyday because I was giving my power to everyone and not owning my own happiness and life that really turned my booty around.  I wanted to be that person that people came to and got advice and help, I loved doing it, but I never had it because I was pushing it away, I was not listening or loving myself to know I had what it took to be that person.  People would push me around and I let it happen.

I once had a boss tell me “Kris, you’re great at what you do, but your too soft…you’re a push over”  What did I do?  Apologized. Right there I knew something was off, I wasn’t supposed to feel like this.  was out of my power so much I didn’t have that back bone to own my life.

If this is something you’re feeling, start a journal or open a new note section on your iphone and write how you’re feeling.  Be conscious of your power and where you really want to say “Yes” but always say “No” with your head down.

I believe in you.  I believe you are exactly the person you are here to be and personal development is an amazing journey to be on.  We will never be great, we’ll always be learning….but we will ALWAYS be FABULOUS!

Ooooo I’m charged up after this post!!!

Today, I am hitting up starbucks, going to look for the new Success From Home Magazine as some of our team is featured in it and then looking for a new bra….exciting I know 😉

To Your Glam Life,

Be The Leading Character, Not The Best Friend {Your FAB Movie Called Life!}

Happy Tuesday!

Did you battle the line ups yesterday??  Did you find all you were looking for?

I can tell you that I did venture into a couple of favorite stores to see what I could see and I saw things, but walked out with a leather Daily Planner. 2012 baby!

You all know, I love my stationary.  I could be a stationary sloose….I run from journal to journal and blue inked pen to another blue inked pen…man, I get around.

Before we jump into today’s topic, I want to give you a run down of our Boxing Day!  After we popped into a few stores, bought our stationary and rummaged through the racks at Lululemon, we met up with my family to see Sherlock Holmes 2!  Ohhhh myyyy goodness….between watching Jude Law on Christmas Day in The Holiday and then on Boxing Day in this movie, I’m swooning!  I love me some Jude.  Great movie!

Of course movies need snacks, so I brought one of these and a baggie full of Dark Chocolate Covered Ginger!  Mmmmm

Let’s get back to The Holiday…not for Jude, but for something I’ve always believed in.

I realized something important.

Something I felt in my heart was time to cover a Special Topic with you.

Let me ask you this: Are you the Leading “Lady” {or Dude for you dudes!} or the “Friend” in your life?

As Arthur Abbot says in The Holiday “in the movies we have leading ladies and we have the best friend. You, I can tell, are a leading lady, but for some reason you are behaving like the best friend.”

Up until about 7 months ago, I was the best friend.  The one who would put everyone a head of my needs, my desires and my dreams.  Heck, I would question why anyone would come and read this blog.

I then realized that I wanted to be the leading lady in my life.

We discusses the other day how you don’t need to be selfish to get what you want {you can read that post here} and we know that our NEEDS are important to be met.  If we’re constantly running around doing things we dislike or staying at a place we cringe at, It’s time my friend to evaluate this situation and see where we can improve.  It’s time to run the show!  Be the belle of your own ball and step it up!

Back in 2007 when I was part of a Look A Like Contest with a local radio station I had a major Life Shift.

I was voted on, in the main newspaper here in Vancouver and people came to see me {and the 19 other contestants} be on stage!  During this was going on I could feel my Ego increase {hello! I was wanted and admired!  This was a first for me…} and my Fears kicked in big time.  “What if I fail?  What if the hosts are disappointed with me?  What if the audience is disappointed?”

“I can’t do this, I suck”

All of this was going through my head. I wanted to run far, far away as I waited for my time to shine on that stage.

But my inner guide, my divine voice held me there and for this I’m forever grateful.

I rocked the stage, sweated like a beast and carried on.

What happened on that stage?  I friggin was the Leading Lady of my life!  From that day on, I knew I could accomplish anything and that I am here for a reason and it’s ok to know you’re wanted.

So, what does it mean to be the Leading Lady?  I believe it means to listen to your needs and desires and see where you’re screaming for help inside {mine was to be seen and heard!} and actually take the steps to fulfill them.  This might mean you write out your desires on a sheet of paper, study them and then rip them out and toss them into the ocean. Know that the universe, god or your angels will always bring the correct tools for you to achieve your dreams.

You might want to set action steps to achieve your goals.  Follow them every day and feel good about them.

Being the Leading Lady means you OWN your life!  You don’t take the crap you don’t deserve from no one, you stand firm and you believe in your heart you deserve what you KNOW you deserve and are capable of! I’m a firm believer and teacher in being a Celebrity in your life and having your gifts shine so people come to you for your skills.  Ahhhhhh….I’m so passionate about this.  Have I told you, You Deserve This?!  LOL!!

We go over this in my one on one coaching and I’m blessed to help my clients feel this POWER!  You’re ALLOWED to have Power!!  Amazing, right??  More info on Coaching Here!

Well, now that I’m fired up and ready to rock this day, I’m heading to the Gym, Drinking my Smoothie, walking to Starbucks and then will spend some time today writing out my FAB goals for 2012!  This is going to be an AMAZING YEAR!!!

I thought it would be fun to voice where in your life you would like to step it up!  Share below!  Are you the Leading Lady {or Dude} or the Best Friend in your Life?
