Healthy Treats You Won’t Feel Guilty Munching

Hola!

Waking up after a fabulous sleep really does wonders for the body, doesn’t it??  The alarm clocks are all set again to rudely wake us up like a slap in the face a lot earlier than we have been used to over the holidays.

Sigh.

Honestly I feel better waking up earlier and getting my rear into gear.

If you follow me on Twitter, you may know that I got back into my workout routine after taking a little 4 day break over Christmas and all I can say is Wow.  Your body sure knows that you took the easy ride for 4 days and really enjoys making your first workout back a challenging one.

I made it half way through before my legs were fuzzy like pipe cleaners and all I wanted to do was fall to the ground between each cross legged burpee.

A long chat was happening between my brain and my body and we both decided to re-try the workout again this morning.  So after I hit publish on this post I will be sweating up a storm shedding the Nanaimo bars from my back pocket 😉

Keeping in line with my “Back to Health” chapter I decided it was silly to quit sweets cold turkey, right?!  I mean please, we can’t get all crazy with ourselves can we?

Sweets are important in our day as they give us that little nibble of bliss we so need in our life.  However, we do have the choice on which type of sweet we choose.  A Mars Bar is not the proper sweet we should be reaching for daily, but these Seeds ‘N Stuff are the perfect sweetness that will boost your health and feed your taste buds with sweet flowing goodness.

We all know how great pumpkin, sunflower and chia seeds are for you and when we throw in the coconut oil and the dark chocolate……BAM!  Health in a cluster :)

Healthy Seeds ‘N Stuff Treats:

1 heaping tablespoon pumpkin seeds

1 heaping tablespoon sunflower seeds

1 tablespoon chia seeds

1 tablespoon raisins

1/4 cup coconut oil

1/2 cup melted dark chocolate

1/4 tsp vanilla {optional}

To Make Seeds ‘N Stuff:  Mix all seeds, raisins and other goodies you want to add in one bowl.

Add in the coconut oil, vanilla and a few chocolate chips and stir together.

Melt chocolate in a double broiler or in microwave.

Drop seed mixture onto a parchment lined sheet and drizzle each cluster with melted chocolate.

Place in the freezer for 20-30 minutes before serving.  *Makes 8 large clusters

We savored a few of these while watching Despicable Me last night along side some organic popcorn and green tea.

I must, I must, I must not let my workout be a bust 😉

hehe. I am off to get my sweat on and then into the kitchen for another round of Baking for Passion with Kris, Susan and Michelle.  Please universe fit in the last missing piece to our “out of this world” cookie that drives our buyers wild.  I know its coming to me 😉  Thoughts become things my “Secret” movie told me!

Are you back on your workout routine?  How is it going?  What is your favorite healthy sweet?

To Your Glam Life,

xxoo
