Whole30 taught me a whole lot about my health and wellness. The biggest lesson over the 30 days I learned was that I was a complete sugar addict.
Today I can happily say that I do not consume refined sugars nearly as much as I had been.
Over these past few months, I’ve quickly found out that my body doesn’t respond the best from sugar, so the transition to eat mostly sugar-free has been really easy when I view my transition with love and appreciate for my body and not so much a need or pull to the food!
With all honesty, I had given up sugar in the past, probably about 6 years ago when my adult acne was at it’s worst and I was desperate to fix my skin.
I eliminated everything packaged from my diet, went 100% vegan and also became quite obsessed with eating a certain way…I was not coming from a love, I was completely in fear when I ate and I could see how deformed my eating was and how obsessed I was with every single ingredient, I was a nightmare to go out for dinner with.
I was also very judgemental of what others ate and I preached my ways, when no one needed or wanted to follow my “rules”.
Today, eating a vibrant, healthy, aligned way – without labels or restrictions, I feel WHOLE. I feel good. I feel HAPPY!
Do I eat sugar? I do. I just shared a Starbucks double chocolate loaf with Ryan to celebrate a bit win in my Goddess Boss essential oil team, but I do NOT eat these daily.
I just feel really low energy after I eat sugars and I know that my body is better with treats like the one I’m sharing with you today – Sugar-Free Fudge Brownies!
I got this recipe from the amazing JessicaSepel.com and tweaked it with what I had at home : )
Sugar-Free Fudge Brownies:
4 Tbsp Raw Cocoa Powder (I used the Bulletproof Upgraded Cocoa Powder so it’s full of it’s fatty goodness!) – Jessica recommends chocolate protein powder.
3 packets of Stevia
1 tbsp Coconut Flour
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
Dash of Sea Salt
1 tbsp Almond Butter
1/2 c Water
To Make Sugar-Free Fudge Brownies:
In a big mixing bowl, whisk together all the ingredients.
Pour into a small glass dish (I used a 6×4 glass dish)
Place in the freezer for 20 minutes
My brownies came out like fudge with a bit of “fluff” from the coconut flour and almond butter!
What I will do different next time, is add a drop of Wild Orange or Cinnamon Essential Oil to spice it up a bit.
But these are very tasty and packed with nourishment. You got your fats, antioxidants, minerals, yummo!
