Last night was a tough one when it came to my after dinner snack. The day prior to dinner consisted of a lot of cookie tasting for the Bakery and well, I can’t just stop at a couple of bites. Next thing I know the whole freaking cookie is in my mouth, I have my “mmmm” face on, you know the ones when your eyes scrunch at first, then they open up to do a roll once over as you nasal “mmmmmm”
Yea. I did a lot of that.
So normally around 8:30 pm Ryan and I stop our work and sit down with a snack and a movie, or a part of one of our DVD series and just chill out. We normally have popcorn, fruit, or sometimes some cookies. EEKK. This is by far my favourite time of day
After my abundant amount of cookies, I steered clear of the cookies even though Ryan enjoyed some, I decided to have a healthy bright green veggie drink!
As I was washing my kale, I decided I wanted a savoury drink, something like V8, but GREEN!
Green V4 Juice:
2 large leaves of black kale
1 handful cilantro
1 handful spinach
1/4 of an avocado
1/8 tsp mexican chili powder
1 tsp nutritional yeast
1/8 tsp sea salt {or more if necessary}
1/2 tsp coconut oil
1.5 cup water
To Make V4 Drink: Wash leafs in a bath of veggie wash
Place spices and nutritional yeast into the blender
Add in avocado, greens and water
Blend it up baby!
Mine just had a hint of Mexican flare, so you may want to add some more spice.
This filled me, fuelled me, and hit the spot.
I won’t lie…..my hand still made it into Ryan’s popcorn bowl.
Now I must leave the bloggie for now so I can hit the road to our test kitchen and get our aprons on, the timers set and the mixing bowls working!
The exciting news is we have our Food Safe course booked for this Tuesday! Apparently I hear I will never eat out again after I take this course and they show how people improperly hand food. EEEKKK.
Have you taken the a Food Safe Course? Do you enjoy veggie juice without fruit?
To Your Glam Life,
xxoo

Sounds wonderful! I appreciate veggie juice a lot more than I used to, especially carrot juice and green smoothies for breakfast. But this post makes me want to use my neglected juicer.

Yum! Athough I don’t know if I could do the mexican chili powder thing! I’d be willing to try it though. I just got beets to juice-can’t wait to get home and have some!

Sounds wonderful, but remember that spinach and kale are rich sources of vitamin K. People who are taking Coumadin (blood thinner) to reduce the risks associated with strokes must limit their “K” intake.
